CREPIM is one of the major European Laboratories for development and the approval of materials covered by fire regulations. CREPIM (i) develops, (ii)tests and (iii) certifies the fire performances of materials and assemblies for all concerned areas featuring the mass transportation sectors (railways, aircrafts and boats), in the building, electrical, and textile sectors. This activity is carried out in an Environmentally-Friendly way taking into account the end-of-life product.
Our organisation features four poles: (i) Development and (ii) testing pole, (iii) CE marking- Construction Product Regulation –and Certification pole and (iv) training pole, all focus on fire chemistry and testing . The whole team includes 20 people, featuring chemists for a large part (Msc, doctors and senior scientists)
The Development pole – it is our original activity – to support you in the development of FR formulas:
Focus on FR resins development, Thermoplastic or thermoset, mainly based on all technologies, featuring intumescence
The Testing pole provides you with a complete set of fire testing methods; to characterize the reaction to fire of you materials and assemblies. Ours teams are fully skilled, trained and recognized to deliver you a direct access to market:
The Training pole to upgrade you skill regarding
The CE marking- Construction Product Regulation –and Certification pole, to lead you on the CE marking route for you construction products
CREPIM: an organization focused on flexibility and technical knowledge
This offer, which covers the whole chain from upstream to downstream, is unique in Europe. The board of CREPIM, which gathers academic, institutional and private own partners settle a base on which CREPIM’s teams can drain scientific knowledge to turn over upper edges services towards customers. Contracts with partners feature a large array of collaboration types, from spot testing and consulting, up to technological development and long term study.
Crepim takes an active part in FAA meeting in Alabama from the 7 th to 8 th of march
Tuesday 07 march 2017
This meeting is focusing on fire test method and aims to address key issues
- full scale method reveiw
-new rule for Fire testing and new method development

Trends in Fire Safety and Innovative Flame Retardants for Plastics conference, 14. - 15. März 2017 @ Würzburg, Germany
Sunday 05 february 2017
My Friend Dr Troitzsch organise every year a conference focuses on Fr trends, in Würzburg, Germany.
This 15th conference on fire safety and innovative flame retardants for plastics will focus on the latest status and trends in fire safety regulations and tests, environmental aspects and sustainability, as well as on the advances in innovative flame retardant systems and their use in polymers. In addition, this conference aims at presenting R&D innovations from academia and institutes and their transfer to industrial applications.
Changing fire safety requirements in building and construction, mass transport, and E&E applications may dramatically influence the use of materials and products in these fields. They are addressed in presentations on important developments in building (fire safety of façade thermal insulation, ongoing toxicity debate), transport (revision of European railway fire protection standard) and E&E (future requirements). In addition, the role of bench-scale fire testing in research and development to evaluate new flame retardant systems will be presented.
This is a real opportunity to get the big picture of "what is happening in Germany" and feel free to download the programme . You are just in time to register at http://www.skz.de/de/weiterbildung/108.Weiterbildung.html?detID=11016
Hope to see you over there
